Bathroom Remodel in Missoula, MT
How the job started, what our in-house crew built, and how it turned out.
01Site & challenge
The primary bathroom in this Missoula, Montana home was dated, cold underfoot, and laid out around a cramped shower. The owners wanted a spa-grade room — heated floor, curbless walk-in shower, freestanding tub — inside an occupied house. A studs-out remodel there means dust control, daily cleanup, and a strict sequence: heat wire and membrane down before tile, waterproofing tested before a single sheet of marble-look tile goes up.
02What we built
We gutted the room to the studs, hauled out the old finishes, and reworked the layout for a walk-in shower and a tub under the garden windows and skylight. An electric heating system was laid over an orange uncoupling membrane, then covered with large-format porcelain plank tile. The curbless shower is wrapped floor-to-ceiling in calacatta-look tile with a bench, a niche, a hex-mosaic pan, frameless glass, and brushed-gold ceiling-mount rain and handheld fixtures. A custom gray double vanity with a quartz top, brushed-gold pulls and faucets, and arched mirrors under gold sconces anchors the long wall; frosted bifold doors close off the walk-in closet. Our own crew handled the plumbing and electrical, tile, and vanity fabrication under our bathroom remodel service.
03Outcome
The payoff is a shower and heated floor that feel factory-fit in a Montana winter, a soaking tub with a garden view, and a bathroom the owners no longer rush through — permitted through the City of Missoula and Missoula County.
