Finish

Custom Cabinetry & Countertops

Specializing in quartz and granite.

We build and install custom cabinetry and fabricate quartz and granite countertops in-house, so your kitchen or bath finish is under our control from measurement to install — not ordered from a catalog and hoped for.

Custom cabinetry means it fits your walls, not standard boxes forced into an odd space. We template counters after cabinets are set, so seams and overhangs are right. Quartz for durability and consistency, granite for natural character — we'll show you slabs and help you choose.

What's included

  • Custom cabinet design and build

Cabinets designed to your walls and your storage, drawn in the 3D model and built to fit rather than standard boxes forced into an odd space.

  • Quartz and granite fabrication

Quartz for durability and consistency, granite for one-of-a-kind natural character, fabricated through our own shop.

  • Templating and precision install

Counters templated after the cabinets are set so seams, overhangs and sink cutouts are right the first time.

  • Islands, pantries, and built-ins

Kitchen islands with plumbing and electrical, walk-in pantries, mudroom lockers, media walls and bathroom vanities.

  • Soft-close hardware and organizers

Soft-close hinges and slides, pull-outs, drawer dividers and the hardware that makes a kitchen work every day.

  • Backsplash coordination

Backsplash tile planned with the counter edge and outlet layout so the finished wall reads as one design.

What it costs

Cabinet cost is set by linear feet, construction (semi-custom versus full custom), door style and finish, and the interior fittings; countertop cost by square footage, material and the number of seams and cutouts. Semi-custom cabinets with quartz are our standard level in a kitchen; custom cabinetry and premium stone are the Premium level and inset custom cabinetry with marble or natural stone the Luxury level.

Timeline

  1. Design

3D model and shop drawings approved.

  2. Build

Cabinets built to the drawings — the lead time that sets the schedule on most kitchens.

  3. Install and template

Cabinets set, then counters templated on the installed boxes.

  4. Counters and finish

    Fabrication, installation, hardware and backsplash.

Permits and codes

Cabinets and counters themselves don't need a permit, but the plumbing and electrical changes that usually accompany them — a relocated sink, an island with power, new lighting — do.

When cabinetry is part of a kitchen remodel or bathroom remodel, our office pulls those permits with the rest of the job.

Questions, answered

Semi-custom gives you a wide range of sizes, door styles and finishes from standard construction and is our standard level; full custom is built to your exact dimensions and details — inset doors, unusual heights, furniture-grade finishes — and is our Premium and Luxury level. If your room has odd dimensions or you want inset doors, custom earns its cost.

Quartz is consistent, non-porous and low-maintenance; granite is one-of-a-kind natural stone that needs periodic sealing. Both are fabricated through our shop and both last — it's a look-and-lifestyle call, and we'll show you slabs.

We template after the cabinets are set, not from the drawings, so the counter fits the real room. Seams are planned where they're least visible and away from sink cutouts, and overhangs are confirmed on the template.

Cabinet construction is the long-lead item on most kitchens and depends on the construction level and finish; counters follow templating. We give you dates at the free advice visit and order cabinets before demolition so the kitchen isn't sitting open waiting on them.
