Mercer Island Clearing

A 2.3-acre hillside lot on Mercer Island cleared, grubbed, and graded — full tree removal and haul-off, machine excavation and cut-to-grade, quarry-rock placement, and an engineered soldier-pile soil retaining wall with treated-timber lagging, steel piles, and drainage rock stepping down the slope.

Soldier-pile soil wall
Steel piles with treated-timber lagging stepped down the slope, surveyed and set to the engineer's line, with free-draining rock backfill
Erosion & traffic control
Silt fence, orange construction fencing, flaggers, and street sweeping to keep the roadway safe and clean

The challenge

Clearing 2.3 wooded acres on a steep Mercer Island hillside meant working directly above a live neighborhood road. We phased tree removal, staged trucks with flaggers on the street, then surveyed and set a soldier-pile wall — steel piles, timber lagging, and drainage rock — stepping the full grade change down the slope so the hillside stays put.
