A backyard transformation in Meridian, Idaho — an aging wood deck torn out, old concrete demoed and hauled off, then a new form-set, compacted-base stamped concrete patio poured with a broom-textured field and a contrasting colored border wrapping the new back steps.

Deck demolition
Full tear-out of the old deck — boards, joists, and hardware pulled, sorted, and hauled off
Concrete demo & haul-off
Old slab broken out by hand and machine, rubble wheeled off and exported
Forming & base prep
Form boards set to grade with a compacted gravel base ready for pour
Stamped concrete
New patio poured and finished with a textured field, contrasting stained border, and new back steps
The challenge
Swapping a rotting deck for concrete means everything the deck hid — old slab, soft spots, bad grades — comes out with it. We demoed to clean subgrade, set forms to shed water away from the house, and compacted the base so the new stamped patio pours flat and stays flat.
